GRAND CONCOURS 2023
NORTHERN ILLINOIS/CHICAGO Chapter & DOWNSTATE ILLINOIS Chapter

Last day to register for FLES is March 4
        
Levels 01-5 early bird deadline is February 15, 2023 (last day to order is April 3)

Test dates: 
 
2023 Contest Dates

Grades 1-6 (FLES): February 13 - March 6, 2023
Grades 7-12 (levels 01-5): February 15 - April 5, 2023

Cost:   
 
    Students of AATF members $6.00
($5.00 test fee + $1.00 state chapter fee)
        
Students of non-AATF members $11.00
($10.00 test fee + $1.00)

Prizes:   
 
National Prizes

Teachers will receive medals for students in Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze 
Teachers can download certificates to award to their students

      
 
Chapter Prizes (IL only)

One top scoring high school student will receive a 2 week scholarship to
Concordia Language Villages summer immersion camp

Each teacher will receive an electronic gift certificate to purchase prizes/awards for their students.

The top scoring students in each level will receive a Grand Concours t-shirt.

REASONS/TIPS TO REGISTER YOUR STUDENTS:
Promote your French program
Motivate your students
Show student progress in French proficiency
Develop pride and camaraderie in your program
Proctor your own students during or outside of class
Divide the test into two days if you need to (Part A & Part B)
Use club money dues for registration fees
After-school activity
Honor Society participation hours.

Assigning students to a course:

Click on Nat’l French Contest
Click on student level: corresponds with their level at school 
Click on Roster Invite students:
Give students “student course code” OR add them directly by their e-mail

Assign students to a division
ALL students will be Division A (have not lived with French-speaking parents or lived in a French speaking country or taken a course taught in French, not including their primary French class)

Call help line with registration questions

On Testing day:
Give students the secret code, so they can only start when it’s time to start
Can change code or leave as is.
One code for part A, another for part B

Students go to Modules:
Complete questionnaire to make sure they’re in the right division
Can now start Part A, B (in either order):
Enter secret code, start timed exam
THEY KNOW IF STUDENTS MOVE AWAY FROM TEST PAGE (new tab/window)
Teacher view:
see a red triangle under “tracked events”

Exam locks when time is out - SS self-monitor time in top left corner

Instructor can see submission results (page icon) from instructor login view
