1.0 French Teacher, Maternity Leave, Chicago Public Schools (beginning March 2020)
Northside College Preparatory High School (a Chicago Public Schools selective enrollment high school) is in need of a maternity leave position that will begin in mid-March 2020 and continue through the end of the school year in June 2020. The maternity sub position will have three classes of French 1 Honors and two classes of French 3 Honors, and students span all grade levels from freshmen to seniors. Class sizes range from 17-30 students. Northside's schedule works on a block system with 100-minute long periods that meet twice a week: Monday/Thursday and Tuesday/Friday, with a non-academic Colloquium seminar schedule on Wednesdays. Experience with standards-based grading is preferred. Students are highly-motivated, responsible, enthusiastic, and eager to learn. We are looking for a part-time teacher to restart a French program with a level 1 class for the 2020-2021 academic year.
